The Egypt regime were very keen on the structural adjustment programme, however this still wasn’t beneficial to the economy, and low GDP still existed and the rise of financial crisis had caused the citizens to become more aggressive. The regime had failed because it would only focus on foreign and domestic investments. Although the Nazif government solved one problem, it had created more problems. Firstly, the internal causes of the revolution was that Egypt had a massive income gap during Mubarak’s control, and this is the root cause of the Arab Spring. As I have mentioned that families live on $2 a day. The average per capita income in the country is $6,200. According to Korotayev and Zinkina, they argue that the revolution is one of the fastest growth of the world food prices, and “that definitely had influences on destabilization of Egyptian sociopolitical system.” The unemployment in the Arab region is a major source of economic insecurity.
