Sir Gawain The Green Knight Character Analysis

Have you ever gone through events that taught you a lesson. Sir Gawain a man that thought of himself as someone whose life didn’t matter went on a journey that taught him a valuable lesson. Sir Gawain is very brave and honorable man. Sir Gawain takes on the Green Knight’s challenge, also shows discipline and self-control at the Lord’s castle. As well as goes to the Green Knight Chapel to keep his part of the deal they had. As a result of this Sir Gawain learned a life changing lesson on his journey through the Christmas games. To start off Sir Gawain takes on the Green Knight’s challenge which is called the Christmas games. King Arthur’s kingdom was celebrating then a strange man crashes the party. The strange man was all green even his horse was green he was known as the green knight. The Green Knight challenges King Arthur and his knights to the Christmas games. The challenge is for either the king or his knights to cut off the Green knight’s head and in a year in a day they come to the Green Chapel and he cuts off their head. Sir Gawain arrives at the Green Chapel only to hear the Green Knight sharpening his blade. Sir Gawain gets in position for the Green Knight to chop off his head. The Green Knight raises his blade and swings at Sir Gawain, but Sir Gawain flinched back. The Green knight then raises his blade a second time and swings at Sir Gawain but stops mid-swing to see if Sir Gawain would flinch again but he didn't. The Green Knight raises his blade a third time and strikes Sir Gawain but not hard enough to chop off his head, then Sir Gawain wonders what he’s doing;the Green Knight then tells Sir Gawain he was testing him.
