Early In the movie, She’s the Man, a soccer coach says, “You're all excellent players. But girls aren't as fast as boys. - Right. - What? - Or as strong. Or as athletic” (Fickman 2006). In my opinion, sports should be co-ed, but there are some exceptions. I believe that what the coach of the guy’s soccer team is saying is inequitable. I have always been involved in a sports team during my life through soccer, gymnastics, and track. I believe that girls are just as fast and as strong as guys can be as long as they work hard and put effort in the sport the girl’s soccer team at Cornwall suddenly is cut. The main character, Viola then wants to try out for the men’s team. The coach then laughs, and as a result Viola breaks up with her boyfriend Justin. Justin states, “I think the coach said it all. Yesterday you told me that I was better than half the guys on your team. What? I never said that. What are you talking about? Why are you lying?!” (Fickman 2006). This causes Justin to deny how good of a soccer player his girlfriend is just so he can fit in with the rest of the guys on his team. In this case, I feel it is only fair to give Viola a …show more content…
Co-ed teams generate a unique social atmosphere for anyone and it provides them a chance to compete with the opposite sex together. Sometimes, there might not be sufficient interest in a sport to form only girls or only boys teams to play. This would mean going coed would be the only opportunity for teams to play. In circumstances like this, bringing boys and girls together provides children a chance to discover a sport they enjoy and do extremely well at. Lastly, having both genders on one team can alter how the game is played. Coed teams can help both sides develop and adjust, giving children a larger set of skills as they learn more in their sport. The downfalls would include, boys being more aggressive and some girls not wanting to be as competitive as guys

Co-Ed sports teams consist of athletes of both genders. These types of teams are typically only available for the younger kids, but what if it was an option for the older players too? Having the option to play co-Ed sports could be a massive push in the right direction for both the children involved, and the reputation of the school promoting it. The school would likely be the only one in town offering the student athletes a fun and healthy way to learn to work with others, relieve themselves from stress, and learn to have mutual respect for others no matter your differences. Should women be allowed to play on male sports teams? I think that women shouldn't be allowed to because of safety requirements, and sexaul harassment which would both be a big issue. First of all, male sports are aggressive and safety would be hard to avoid. They would have a high risk of injury, concussion rates in the last year have rose over 20%.There are many different kinds of injuries you can suffer while playing a male sport like you can overheat and pass out, you can tear your ACL or MCL or you could even overuse your body and strain it. Injuries are very hard to avoid and a male's body is built to take a lot more than a girls so our injury rates would increase if the females joined our team because the males are 30% stronger than females which means we have more muscle to protect us from injury.…
