These examples of hate crime cases show some of the extreme ways that homosexuals are being victimized. Other types of victimization include intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking among homosexuals. Those who self-identify as lesbian, gay, and bisexual have the same or higher chance of experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking, according to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS): 2010 Findings on Victimization by Sexual Orientation (“NISVS: An Overview,” July). The author was unable to find additional research on these other victimizations. This survey was conducted by the Center for Disease Control and maybe by shining a small light on those crimes, further research needs to be conducted to better understand this aspect of sexually oriented violence.
