CHANGE AS A STUDENT: When I was told that I had to do this course, I though that an Academic Development Course would be not only boring but a waste of time. As I said before, I thought that I was a petty smart guy. But as Dr. G taught us, our initial perceptions are normally wrong. Although ADV 101 was not the most exiting course in the world and it seemed to give us more homework then all my other courses combined. Even though I may not have started strong, I really tried to put this into effect and I have seen a noticeable change in the level of my work. In this school, the grading system is such that if I tried to incorporate my high school method of doing things. I would be in a lot of trouble. Along with this start strong approach, I have learnt many different strategies for improving my academic standards.
