The Importance Of Education In High School Life

Register to read the introduction… All but one of my teacher actually cared about what I did with my life and I used this to my advantage. I was not the least interested in schoolwork, because I knew that I would be leaving on a scholarship no matter what I did in high school. I did no work at home whatsoever and always did my assignments in school at the last minute. I Barely made passing grades at the end of the term, but everyone else was getting bad grades too, so I blamed it on the school. Final Exams came and went, and by the time I had gotten my results. I had already well settled in to High Point University.

CHANGE AS A STUDENT: When I was told that I had to do this course, I though that an Academic Development Course would be not only boring but a waste of time. As I said before, I thought that I was a petty smart guy. But as Dr. G taught us, our initial perceptions are normally wrong. Although ADV 101 was not the most exiting course in the world and it seemed to give us more homework then all my other courses combined. Even though I may not have started strong, I really tried to put this into effect and I have seen a noticeable change in the level of my work. In this school, the grading system is such that if I tried to incorporate my high school method of doing things. I would be in a lot of trouble. Along with this start strong approach, I have learnt many different strategies for improving my academic standards. I have learnt techniques in Memory Improvement, Review Strategies, Note taking Techniques, Stress Management, Etc. All of which I can use to improve the level of competence in the in my academic
