Franklin believed that on should work for a period of time and save money until they retire and then spend your saved money to do what you love. I do find a lot of truth in what he says. I think of how I am going to pay college with that kind of mind. I plan on saving and working hard and then having all the fun later of college and all the hard stuff is over with. But, again there is a limit.
If you are going to do hard work, make it fun and enjoyable. There is no reason why you can’t have fun while working or studying. I believe that happiness can come from all of the unexpected and unplanned moments of life that happen all of a sudden. Like when someone trips at work or a friend cracks a joke in the middle of a study session. My major answer to happiness completely disagrees with both franklin and Thoreau. Happiness comes from the loved ones around you.
There is not one moment I can remember where I am not happy when my friends and or family are around. Being happy is not found in the riches of all the world or the things around but the people that love you for who you are. Life without people is lonely and purposeless, in my personal opinion. Now along with that, hard work and spots independence also have a role, I believe but it is not a main piece of the puzzle. Family and friends
