Reflection: My Failure Of The Busing System At IUPUI

Improved Essays
At the time of my attendance at IUPUI my overall poor study habits, getting to class in a timely manner, and procrastination were primary factors that resulted in my failure at IUPUI. When transferring from Ivy Tech in Lawrence to IUPUI I was not used to using the busing system at all so I could not get to class in the time that I needed to. It wasn’t until later in the semester that I actually was able to have slight timing in my schedule and the busing system. However prior to that juncture, because I lived about an hour away by bus, I had trouble in the morning lining up my morning routine with the busing system. This ended up resulting in me being about fifteen to thirty minutes late for some of my classes.
Lining up my time between leaving the house and making it to the bus with the busing systems strict and somewhat limited run time schedule was quite difficult. Primarily because I had to use other means of

My procrastination also carried over into my study habits and also resulted in failures. This was especially true in regards to my math class. When it came to my math class I would somewhat, but didn’t fully, understand the concepts that were given and ask questions occasionally but not as often as I should have. When it came down to homework I would perform fairly well, however, when it came to tests, because of my procrastinatory ways, my results were not as good as they could have been with studying. Most tests resulted in subpar scores and some failures. When I would study it wouldn’t be as long as it should have been and also I would not study until about two days before the exam. These issues continued to carry over into the following semester also, however, as previously stated, those issues started to improve. This was primarily due to the identification of my overall problems with time management, studying, and procrastination with the S.T.A.R.S

When class ended, I went to my introduction to college class and thinking about how I would handle it. So I devoted my entire focus to that problem for the entire class period.…

The busses are available from 7 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., which are times that work well with students pretty consistently. My focus will be on the bus route that I have had most experience with, route thirty-six. I take route thirty-six everyday to get to campus from The Cottages. Getting to campus is not a problem for me because the cottages is the first stop in the mornings, but the last two stops get passed by more often than not because the bus gets too full. Not only does the crowding take away from the students that get passed up, but it also causes students to be late to their classes because of the time wasted trying to squeeze a ridiculous amount of people onto a bus.…

I am a sample size of 20 in every 100 Americans who go through the monster I experience, and am trying to overcome everyday (Psychology Today). 20% seems to be a low number considering it has been around since the Egyptian time period (Konnikova). Literally this monster has been around since the beginning of time, and even they had a struggle when building the pyramids. This monster I call is a race against the clock, a ticking time bomb that adds extra pressure that is not necessary. As we speak I am typing this paper at the last minute racing to get it in to turnitin.com by midnight.…

Of all the movements America has gone through since its inception, I believe the realism movement best-aligns itself with who I am as a person. I believe that we, as humans, are nothing more than a collection of atoms, just like every space-occupying thing in our universe, and that we are no more significant than any other object. A way this belief translates to my every-day life is how I am not a religious person. Most of the popular religions teach that humans are somehow “special”, and they are more important than, say, your bedside lamp; I disagree completely. This ties in directly with the accepting reality element of the realism movement.…
