Romeo And Juliet: The Ultimate Twist

While reading through the many plays that you all listed that we could focus our project on, I chose the play Romeo and Juliet because of the well written and articulated scenes while reading. I also chose to create my project on Romeo and Juliet because it is a tragedy play written about two opposite thrones (the Capulets and Montagues) in which they have a teen daughter and a teen son who both fall in love with each other with the thought of marriage, but in the end it is a ultimate twist. They both end up dead. Lastly, I chose Romeo and Juliet because I am at a practical age where we think we are in love and want to be with someone. There are plenty things people in Chicago, and not just Chicago but America try to do to obtain peace, but for teens reading about an ideal rational relationship would decrease it. Plenty of my friends now date the opposite of what they and their family is, which brings death and so much pain within both families. My Romeo and Juliet is an ideal figure for those who live in Chicago, even for me and my relationship. I have family who partake in the red side and my boyfriend’s family partake in the blue side. We both love each other, but it’s a bit odd when we come together because of that. Overall, I would love for my audience to gain the idea that love comes from many different backgrounds, and if your family member obtains that from the opposite, respect it. The goal is to end most stories with a triumphant end, instead of a tragedy which will lead to more to come in the future. The message is to create peace and decrease the amount of deaths we see and feel everyday due to many issues, not just relationship wise. Love makes great change within a society and most times it would take idealism to solve complex issues that America, Chicago and many other places face dealing with those type of
