One day the use of robotics technology will be so integrated into our lives that the world will depend upon it for survival rather than luxury. Just as education began initially as a ‘luxury’ but migrated to a necessity, so too will technology in education. Focus needs to be placed on ensuring that programs developed for younger learners will include and benefit with technology use over time. Comparing to other forms of engineering, mechatronics seems to be it’s own field, and is definitely a part of robotics. The majority of this article explains how to coordinate this field into other fields and into education. In terms of education, the use of projects is emphasized in this article. A lot of information is strictly speaking of the science of mechatronics rather than the educational aspect of it.

London ; New York : Springer, 1998. “Robotics Research” contains information regarding the current status of robotics knowledge. Information for the beginner is given throughout the book, but it is still useful for the advanced. Current projects and status’ of the world of robotics are explained in detail. A book intended to inform a research-type person of summed knowledge. Not much relevance to the teaching or learning of robotics as a method.
