Frost open the poem very strange saying that “two roads diverged in a yellow would, And sorry I could not take both” Frost decide he want to start out being funny about the roads being diverged in a yellow wood which we can tell that there is no such thing as a yellow wood nor the path he took would result to be the same. However the yellow represent brightness and he want to tell us that the path he took was the only path there to take and the other one was no option to take as it was clearly not a choice for him. Therefore, right at the begging he tells reader to dismiss the other road as he can see clearly that it really only one way to approach his suffering. Second line then states indirectly that he sorry because he will not travel the road that involves all his sorrows. In the poem the second line Frost said “And be one traveler, long I stood” Frost clearly said that he was the only traveler on the road and as long as he stood there on the road he don not seem to have seen anyone there with him. Analyzing this base on the time period it was written we can tell comment that Frost stood alone base on his feelings when he lost his children. We can say that all the friends that was there no knew how he felt and the pain he was going throw. The following line he said that “And looked down one as far as I could to where it bend in the undergrowth”. Throughout the time he was standing there on the road he can see that this path he takes his full of sorrows and pain. Undergrowth (dense growth of shrubs and other plants, especially under trees in woodland) he saying that while standing on the lonely road he could see where the wood bend to the undergrowth yet he did not see the undergrowth because he do not want to travel that far on the lonely road to the point that he would feel like a shrubs (a woody plant that is smaller than a tree and has several main stems arising at or near the ground).
