Branson uses key business skills to attain corporations and lead them to success. “ I immerse myself in getting the business set up and am very involved the first three or four months get good people to run it and give them a stake in the company and a lot of freedom and then set back and move on to the next.” Branson’s method of giving his top management small ownership in his company not only creates limited liability and reduces Branson 's risk, but also gives them a sense of accomplishment. Branson thinks motivating his workers in these type of ways has a positive impact on their performance. Branson describes this in this quote, “if you can motivate your people you can get through bad time and you can enjoy the good times together. If you fail to motivate your people your company is doomed not to perform well.” Richard Branson now has more than 100 Virgin companies worldwide, employing approximately 60,000 people in over 50 countries.
