Behavior Characteristics For Children With ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder also known as ADHD is a disability where children show at minimum one of these characteristics: hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention (Santrock, 2014). These symptoms can be shown in elementary students. ADHD is a psychiatric disorder. In 2009 about 3-5 % of student were showing symptoms of ADHD (Fonseca, Seguier, Santos, Poinso, & Deruelle, 2009). Only focusing for a few minutes, or high levels of physical activity and no stop motion and impulsive reactions are all signs of a child with ADHD.
There are three different types of ADHD that children can be diagnosed with one is ADHD with predominately hyperactivity. This is where the child is hyperactive and can’t really control their movements, ADHD with predominately inattention where the child’s attention span is very short and ADHD with bot inattention and hyperactivity where children are lacking in both attention skills and controlling their movements.
Children with ADHD show a lack in knowing role-appropriate responses to certain situations. They are unable to change their behavior that fits the environment that they are in and they are not aware of stubble social cues. The term

Children this age are learning a deeper sense of empathy and are able to recognize who is bad and who is good. In the concrete operational stage the child is developing a longer-term memory. Unlike some children with ADHD children in this age group are able to increase what they know but using different strategies. The children in his age group are able to sit still for a longer period of time, which allows them to repeat in some type way of instructions given to them previously (Santrock, 2011
