I’m usually not able to taste, smell, or feel, but my visuals and hearing are mostly enhanced. This creates a sensation that helps me distinguish the feeling of being awake or asleep. Some people are able to use all of their senses, so it makes it complicated trying to figure out if the body is asleep or wide awake. One example is if a person is sleep deprived.
