Somebody has rightly said that learning begins in the womb and ends in the tomb. All of us are constantly learning and help each other learn something new everyday. Now the question posed here is- As teachers how can we develop professionally as well as help in each others growth ? Our profession compels us to commit ourselves to continued learning .According to Darling -Hammond Professional development is a ' process of enhancing teaching 's professional status by expanding the knowledge base upon which the profession draws and increasing teachers ' epistemological awareness ' while many others simply say ' professional development is professional growth '.

Last but not the least feedback from parents and students will go a long way in helping us realize our mistakes and understand our strengths When we receive a good feedback we feel encouraged and motivated. When we get a feedback about something not going so well we need to take it in the right spirit . I have attended several workshops and incorporated ideas which have enhanced the general quality of my classroom transactions .. Informal discussions with my colleagues happen on a day to day basis where we discuss what happened in our class sharing both our successes and struggles .This has been immensely helpful in honing my classroom management techniques.Reading articles related to teaching has been useful in motivating me to try new activities in my classroom Surfing the net to read about experiences and thoughts shared by teachers across the globe is both reassuring and helps in gaining a new perspective to my understanding of my role as a teacher.Enrolling myself in online courses has deepened my understanding of the subject . Visiting other schools and picking up ideas has also been very helpful.Our management encourages team teaching and collaborative teaching . Observing peers and inviting other teachers to sit in my class during a session has definitely been a crucial factor in my professional growth. Recently i have also started conducting workshops for the junior teachers as well as counselling sessions for parents. So its been a great learning journey so far. And the journey goes
