My father specializes in three dimensional scans and drawings of buildings, and my mother is the Deputy Superintendent at the Toronto East Detention Centre. I have a brother who is 18 and currently enrolled in Ryerson University. I am engaged to a wonderful man and we will be getting married in April 2016. This information if relevant because the four people mentioned above are the closest people in my life. The people I can truly count on and the people who have made me into who I am today. Physically I look a lot like my father but everyone who meets me says I have the determination of my mother. I believe that to really assess yourself, you need to look at the people who surround you and branch out from there. Being twenty-four years old I have had the privilege of not having to face too much adversity in my life. I grew up in a happy home, with supportive family that I thank god everyday for. I suffered from low self-esteem at a young age and as a result I was very reserved, and self-conscious. I was bullied quite relentlessly for most of elementary school and it really took a toll on my self-worth. I decided that after elementary school, I didn’t want to go to the same high school as my peers, I wanted a fresh start and that was exactly what I got. I attended St. Basil the Great for high school and enjoyed every minute of it. It was in high school that I was able to express who I really was and be with people who understood me. I made wonderful fiends and learned some wonderful lesions about who I was a person and what I am capable of doing; however, I was still very unsure of where I wanted my life to go career wise. After graduating from high school I worked full time for a year at Staples Copy and Print Centre and I absolutely loved that job. I was able to be creative, and interact with people daily, but the reality was there was no longevity but I learnt many valuable skills working there. That same year I got
