Amisha Gupta was a 22-year-old student who just completed her undergraduate degree in engineering in the electronics and communications stream from a reputable college in Bangalore. Bangalore was the Silicon Valley of India. Gupta got an offer from one of India’s top IT and IT-enabled services company, Xciting. She was called to join the company and report to its office in September 2010 for her training.
Gupta wrote diary about her training and working experience at Xciting. She wrote in her first diary entry that she experienced some culture shock. Her first impression of the highly organized working like at Xciting will be boring with all those rules, things to do, overload, paperwork, signatures, submitting documents, etc. However, like

For example, after a period of hard work, Gupta’s project got no-gos. Therefore, not only all her works turned out be nothing, but she had to wait until next project. Tired of waiting, Gupta opened her mouth to ask for some works from her manager. It should be a good sign since employees wanted to work more. However, Gupta ended up sent to a less development office. This made Gupta felt like being punished. In the new office, Gupta faced the same problem of dealing with group member who had no contribute. Without training and self-learning, nothing changed this time compare with last time. To solve this problem, Gupta needed to communicate with her partner clearly and continually. At the beginning of the project, they should both set down and listed the responsibilities and deadline for each person. Based on the paper, Gupta and her partner could works independently or dependently based on their agreement. If her partner did not finish the signed tasks on time, she could give him a warning. If her partner continues gave negative respond, Gupta should talked to the management level with the agreement and requested for a new partner. Gupta could implement the practice of to communication clearly in life. For example, she could ask a family member to help her with a housework by explaining her expectation of the quality and deadline clearly. Based on the result and feedback, she would know how effective her communication was. At the same time, she could practice how to influence people and to win the likeness instead of bossy people around. Studied showed that 21 days could helped building a good habit. Maybe if Gupta continued to practice a similar task for 21 days, she could effectively handle the situation next
