For hundreds of years, many people around the world have suffered slavery. Even though the origins of slavery came to be hundreds to thousands of years ago, it is still an issue to this very day. Slavery does not happen to people today, as most of the countries in the world have set rules to settle equality between ethnicities. Slavery isn’t much of a problem anymore, but racism is. Although most of the world set laws of equality between ethnicities, there is still a majority of the world that is racist. The issues racism causes today are segregation, discrimination, and the misunderstanding of law and constitution.

Civils rights in the United States was created to create equality between different races, and to bring everyone together. Today, the majority of the United States’ mixes of races bloom. The United States is one of the most diverse countries in the world, race wise. But one huge problem we face with racism today here in the U.S., is police brutality. Police brutality, according to most African Americans, is mainly aimed toward black people. Because the police would do such a thing, the majority of the African Americans blame the police for not understanding the law, and for being racist. One thing to keep in mind, is that when African Americans are attacked and harassed by the police, the African Americans of the U.S. are most of the time affected. But when an Asian or Hispanic American is attacked by the police, it is less known, as well as less cared about. In the end, the police are to blame for causing such a modern trend to African Americans. Many police officers are extremely brutal toward African Americans, and sometimes that results in the African American dying. Police brutality is not only an issue in the United States, but it is also an issue in many other countries, especially Asia. Aside from police brutality, there isn’t much of a school problem with racism in the United States. Naturally these days, mixtures of races in school is not a problem at all. But in Austria, many Indians face discrimination and harassment in school. It shows that most of the world had never recognized Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a dream” speech, as it would seem the world would be influenced by it. But in the end, millions upon millions of people are just pure racist. Like mentioned before, the mistreat, harass, and despise anyone not of their skin color or ethnicity.
