Technical Communication
Technical Communication applications is a vital source for interactions in a professional life. In the fall of 2015 I had the opportunity to take a Technical Communications course to strengthen my communication skills. I formulated certain goals that had to be met after completing this class. Beyond my moderate skills this course enhanced my knowledge for developing a professional profile, understanding technical communication, understanding audiences and improved my writing skills.

In this paper we were instructed to mark a certain group of professional individuals as our audience and display the use of technical communication. I picked my role as administrator, where I had to write different roles for each employee and send shift guides to the upper management. These interactions has to be based on technical language depending on each individual. Understanding the need of technical communication and how to communicate with different audiences was the main concept deprived from this task. I would not be able to achieve my task if I was not been able to review the formatting and grammar. To complete the assigned task I had to look through various topics and analyze which topic can be a potent selection for my task. Because of my previous degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology, I decided to work on a topic related to oil industry. The biggest problem in oil industry is oil spills. Adding on; I had to plan out my outline by setting up a mannered structure for my technical report. In order to make the technical paper more practical I had to tie in visual graphs, pictures and facts. This required me to research through various data and examine them to fit it in my technical paper. I grasped on the concept of researching while making the audience understand the problem and focus on the solution.
For the final project we were separated in groups and given a topic which had to be presented. Our group presentation is a mixture of every skill that we have accessed through our previous assignments. Our topic is to present how marketing done using social media and how it can affect a social media user. As of now we have just planned our topics and distributed the work among our peers. I have been selected to determine how companies approach different age groups on social media. Key points accessed through the book is keep it simple and do not make it
