According to NASA satellite images, Aquifers around the world are being depleted and are plummeting down, as 37 of the world 's largest aquifers around the world have reached their tipping point. As the drought continues, we are currently using 60% of fresh waters from aquifers, which is twice what humans have ever used in a given year. As aquifers are no longer used as backups, but as the source of our water supply the question becomes, what do we do once aquifers run out of water, do we go straight to the source of the problem, Climate …show more content…
The distribution is causing less rain causing a depletion of water, causing droughts. Too much heat causes warmer temperature, increasing the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere where water vapor than magnifies the warming caused by excess carbon dioxide. Climate change of global warming does not only prevent us from receiving water from rainfall, but actually takes the water we already have from us. Many believe global warming is out of our hands, but know it is not good for the earth, but don’t know how it is affecting it. As it is not too late to help prevent global warming into affect the earth even more, it could also be the answer the our drought problem by supplying the earth with more water and will prevent it from taking water we already have from

Over-pumping Aquifers in Central Valley Of all the states in our great nation , California uses more water from the ground than any other, and up to 80 percent of that water is used for agriculture. This mainly happens as a result of the depletion of the Shasta and Oroville Lakes; the federal government’s main source of water for the Central Valley. Since the drought began four years ago, the farms around the central valley have not been getting the provisions they’ve requested form the state, and as a result, have turned to pumping water out of the reservoirs in the ground. These underground reservoirs are called aquifers, and are among the most valuable resources in California.…

Some experts claim that California is in the midst of a “mega drought” roughly defined as a drought that lasts two decades or longer (Fountain, 2015). This current dry spell is thought to be caused by El Nino 17 years ago, yet people are looking to the new El Nino on the horizon to drench California and help fix it. Other experts claim that this California returning to its normal weather patterns and that we have been living through a small “wet period” that has now ended. Even with all this disagreement with what is causing the drought most seem to agree on one thing, that we need to manage our water…

California inhabitants are currently faced with this problem. Although all of California’s citizens have some awareness to California’s drought issue, many are oblivious to the drought’s severity. They continue to leisurely use water due to assumptions that the drought is short term or that the lack of water is normal because the state is a desert.…

Scientists that study climate change and greenhouse gases conclude that “we now have overwhelming evidence that human emission of greenhouse gases has already begun to change the climate and it will continue to do so unless emissions are halted” (Oppenheimer and Antilla-Hughes). This quote proves that the emissions of greenhouse gases is the utmost factor in climate change. If we do not do anything about climate change now and continue to contribute to this global problem, future generations will be affected extremely negatively. The changes in precipitation that are created by climate change will cause some places in the world to become drier and other places much wetter. This means that the water will not be dispersed evenly anymore, leaving families in the dry without water access or rising water prices that will definitely not be affordable to the poor.…
