The ideal form of the rule of one that he gives us is called a Monarchy, while the perverted form is Tyranny. A Monarchy is ruled by a King or a Queen. The ideal form of the rule of a few is Aristocracy, while the perverted form is Oligarchy. The rulers of this form of government are called aristocrats. The ideal form for the rule of many is Polity, while the perverted form is Democracy. What made him a political figure? To answer the question “What makes Aristotle a political figure?” one must first define what political is. Politics is derived from the Greek word polis, which means a city, or a sovereign state. Political is also given many other definitions such as “of or relating to politics” and “being involved or concerned with politics”. Given these definitions, one can now tell if someone is a political figure or not. A political figure is someone who has contributed or is involved with politics. Aristotle is a political figure because of his works about politics which still influence us until today. The types of government that he classified are the ones that are still followed by many nations.
