Animals Testing is Bad? Bioscience and technology have been advanced developed contributing on helping better human life. As a matter of fact, before distributing a new medicine, scientists have to use many tests to evaluate whether the new medicine is good or how bad it affect to human health or any other side effect might occur. Then, animals are science’s targets experiment .From this point, there are two controversial arguments on using animals for testing. One is support to use animal for testing, while other side totally disagree on this experiment. In this essay, the author will provide his idea in favor of supporting the opposing side that people should not use animal for testing. One of the first reason that we should not use animal for testing because testing on animals cannot completely generate all the toxicity from medicine. Traditionally, scientists have been using animal as an experiment model for testing toxicity for drugs, pesticides, food activities and cosmetics. Because of that, for …show more content…
Beside cats, dogs, rabbit or sheep, etc., most animals which relatively closes to human ancestor are primate- Chimpanzees are one of the typical primate example. According to worldwifelife, chimpanzees “share about 98 percent of our genes.” (“Overview”, n.d.), which indicates the high likelihood of change for chemical testing. Conlee and Rowan (2012) indicated that Chimpanzees have their “cognitive and emotional abilities”, mathematical, memory and problem –solving skills” which are similar to human. Likewise, it is express that nonhuman primates, carnivores and marine mammals demonstrate their abilities relating to human such as “social behavior, the ability to react to both positive and negative stimuli, intelligence and even self-awareness.” (“Ethics and Alternatives”, n.d.). From this point, it is clearer to say that human should raise moral recognition toward

Animal Testing The issue of animal testing has been a topic for heated discussions for the recent years. It is necessary to point out that humans and animals have significant biological similarities which make it possible for the scientists to predict human's reaction to certain chemicals, cosmetics, and medicine . There are three major areas of animal testing including biomedical research, animals test using, and the cost of animal testing The first major area of animal testing is biomedical research. Utilizing living animal for the benefit of researcher and for the testing many types of products has been a matter of heated debate for for many of years now. Many people consider animals as pets or companions; whereas others look upon animals as only aids for researchers to study on. Despite peoples feeling towards animals, the reality is that animals across the country and around the world animals are being abused by cosmetics companies and research facilities. Even though humans sometimes benefit from successful animal testing, the pain, the torment, and deaths of the animals are not worth the potential benefits it may bring to humans. However, With all the new advancements in medical and scientific technology, the pain and suffering of…

When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a very debatable discussion. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question whether it helps researchers to find new drugs and treatments suitable for humans. Whereas some are convinced that animal testing does help researchers find new effective drugs and treatments, others maintain that some drugs tested on animals are ineffective or even safe for human consumption. In my perspective the results of animal testing are unreliable, because animals and humans are not genetically or anatomically alike.…

Every year, more than 100 million animals are being tested with products to help cure an illness, or are helping to better the life of humans. If these products work, then it is a success, but if they do not work it hurts the animal’s and it puts them in danger. Many may say it is a good thing because the products are being tested before handing them to a human. Animal testing is that it is wrong and dangerous and especially for the safety of medications for human consumption.…

On average, about 26 million animals are taken and used as little test subjects for big corporations to test their possibly harmful, and occasionally lethal, products before they release them to the public's use. This testing on animals began in 500 B.C and many corporations that participate in it see no harm, and have absolutely no intentions of stopping it anytime soon. There are many people that think testing these possibly dangerous products on innocent animals is not a big deal, but this paper will inform the public with some statistics and also give you the writer's perspective on why animal testing is wrong. One thing that is very arguable when talking about whether testing on these creatures should be approved, and continue or…

Oliveira 1 Animals should not be used for scientific or commercial testing because animal testing is cruel and inhumane, alternate testing methods are available, and because humans and animals are every different from each other making animals very poor test subjects. Research on living animals has been practiced since at least 500 BC (Animal Testing Pro & Con). Scientist use animals for many different purposes. Animals are used to test the effectiveness and safety of new drugs before those drugs are given to people to treat illness and disease. Animals can also be used as test subjects for products like lipstick, eyeshadow, contact lens solution, and shampoo (Hayhurst, 26).…

One of the big controversy of animal testing is that it is believed to be cruel and inhumane. It is widely known that there have been experiments with animal subjects where animals have been harmed and mistreated to the point of death, and highlighted the need for some sort of protection of animals, which came in the form of the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA), but 95% of the animals that are being tested are not protected under the AWA, such as, birds, mice ,and rats who are bred for research, according to http://animal-testing.procon.org/. Another big point of controversy is that there have been cases where they do not show a side-effect that could be seen in a human consumer or they do not actually work on humans, when it is thought to have found a cure. For example, the drugs thalidomide and Vioxx, with the latter causing 27,000 cases of heart attacks and cardiac arrests. Lastly, the cost of using animals in research is higher than using other alternatives, such as the Animal Humane Societies in vitro, which costs around $11,000 to conduct compared to the $32,000 is would cost to do an animal study. Overall the use of animals for research is harmful to the animals who don 't have aren 't protected as best as they can be and is more expensive than using alternative methods to conduct…

Animal testing is an unnecessary part of science that should be gotten rid of completely. Instead of sacrificing the lives of innocent animals, we should spend our time studying the cells of humans and how the product can impact someone before testing it on humans. Animals used for scientific or product testing are under an unnatural and stressful environment, one they would otherwise never come across in life, causing the animal to not react as it should. The Animal Welfare Act states that animals can be burned, shocked, and poisoned. They also state that any experiment that wants to be tested is prohibited no matter how trivial it may be.…

Animal Experimentation Animal experimentation has been around for many centuries. Humans perform these experiments on all species of animals to find different effect of a product it could have on a human. Three advantages in particular advantages are, it helps scientists gain a better understanding for cures of different diseases, this practice makes a vital advance in medicine, and for the expense of treatments and cures animals should not have rights when it comes to research. Although there are many advantages to animal experimentation, there are also disadvantages which include, there is no benefit for the humans, it is cruel, and is dangerous for humans to be treated only after a trial on animals. The first advantage to animal experimentation is using animals like rats can help the scientist gain better knowledge for different…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
