The code of chivalry, it is use as an expression of feudal ideals of honor, nobles developed a code of conduct called chivalry. This code demanded that knight 's be brave warriors and virtuous Christians who would selflessly fight for justice. The ideals of chivalry gave rise to legends and songs, such as the tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. In the eleventh century, as feudalism established itself throughout Europe, stories about Arthur’s court became widespread. The theme of this story is that how did the stories Green Knight and Morte D 'Arthur use the code chivalry. Chivalry has three characteristics to it and they are Courage, Honor, …show more content…
This is a long story about how Arthur became king. His father was Uther, he was a great king because he had this special weapon. A weapon called excalibur, whoever had it will gain power and become the king. Well Uther gained this sword by Merlon. Merlon does magic and that is how he acquired the sword. Uther died in battle but before he died he was able to stick his sword in this rock. As time goes on whoever would pull the sword from the rock would become the King because it would show great strength. In order to get a chance to pull out the sword you have to show your skill on the battlefield. You have to gain honor for the people. As some random knight won the strongest knight in the battle he got to try to pull the sword. The knight failed to pull out the sword. Arthur happened to walk by the sword and tried to pull it out. It was effortless for him to pull out the sword. The people there saw this but they didn’t want a bastard to be their king so they made him put the sword back. After that hey made someone else try to get the sword because they thought it was loosen up. They still couldn’t pull the sword out. Only Arthur could pull the sword out and that made him gain their honor. They respected him after that. It took great courage to keep trying to pull out that sword. Then after that he had to prove himself as king, so then he showed that he is
