Most people, however, can agree that in general spirituality is the search for a higher power and the quest for the true meaning of life. Throughout this essay we will explore Katie’s journey to find her spirituality, how she uses it in regards to her daily life now, and how she will use it in her future career as a nurse.

There have been thousands of incidents when this has happened to Katie and she is never let down by God. It may take a few hours or a few months, but she can always figure out why God placed certain things in her life.
To continue, spirituality impacts Katie’s health immensely. Without the three practices above, she would not be in the health condition that she is in today. Her family keeps her positive and excited for the future when she will get to reconnect with them again. They give her hope that someday she will have a wonderful family of her own that she can include in the amazing one she already has now. If she didn’t have her family’s complete support and trust she probably wouldn’t even be here at this college because they have pushed her to be the best that she can possibly be academically, athletically, and as a human being in general. If spirituality affects Katie’s health as much as she previously stated, it is crucial to help patients find their spirituality when they are at their most vulnerable time and in an unfamiliar place. Allowing a patient to find peace, strength, or security while in a vulnerable state could possibly be the missing piece in their treatment. If they aren’t healed spiritually, how can they possibly focus on healing their body?
Overall, Katie is looking forward to putting her own spiritually and her knowledge about spiritually to good use in the practice of nursing. She thinks that she will be able to truly impact her patient’s lives by guiding them to not only heal their medical problem, but to heal their spiritual problems as well. She hopes to make a difference in the lives of many by making this the norm for all healthcare systems.
