Strengths And Weaknesses Of Personal Leadership

In reviewing the profile I think there is a lot of room for improvement (major Improvement). It seems that I have a grasp on a few of the habits; to include; Be Proactive, Think Win-Win and Seek First to Understand. In considering what type of leader I am or my leadership style, I am a leader that looks for a balance in the outcome, not wanting to always come out on top. Along with my wanting to understand what is going on, whether it is dealing with organizational goal or an individual, the only way to clearly understand where I am going is to understanding all areas of the goal or idea.
As for the other habits and scores; I believe the life balance and putting the first thing first are tied together. They are both dealing the ability to organizing

In the beginning of a project I can get individual involved and motivated working towards a goal but over time I lose steam in regards to the end goal and look for new causes to champion. This lack of follow through can lead to confusion among the team with whom I am working. They may be looking to me for continued motivation but I have lost focus or have moved to another task all together. If this happens, the task be left incomplete or be completed with an inferior manner. (Yuki, 1999) One of the weaknesses that I find that I have associated with this leadership trait is procrastination. This can be directly related to other weaknesses; lack of follow through. Because I may lose the passion in idea or task, I am stray to other task are less important and have bearing on the task at hand. (Brody, 2009) While I may have the ability to motivate other towards a goal, I find I may lose my own motivation. It may not seem that I have lost focus on the goal but I will choose to complete several smaller quick tasks that can be completed in the same time it would take to complete the larger items; these smaller tasks are not a priority at the time. This can become problematic if the larger task is of greater importance to the organizational goal, which could include missed deadline or incomplete task in general. (Bealer, …show more content…
(Awamleh, 1999) Inspiring speech can only do so much in regards to getting the job done, motivating others comes from doing it is the example that the followers see. To complete a task it is not about a fast start, but as transformational leader possessing the ability to have the task completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Another change that I can change is to have a more engages approach in actions and the work process. Instead of focusing on one aspect of the task; the worker; I can show that the work being done is equally important. As a transformational leader, helping the employees to see that there work is also an important part of the process. For some employee it may be all about the rewards they receive but to show that the best interest of the company is also their best interest. (Fulwiler,
