Leaders will no matter what have an influence on our world. They have missions, dreams and ambition, and with these things they are bound to go far. For leaders, what makes these dreams come true is having strong qualities such as leadership practices, values and strengths. If developed and learned how to use correctly, these are what take leaders to the next level and accomplish great things. In the following paper I will talk about leadership in our ever-changing world, explore my leadership practices, values and strengths as well as elaborate on the goals I have made to challenge myself as a leader.
Even though our world is constantly changing as shown in the video, “Did You Know?”, the way our leaders lead has been fairly constant.

One major trait I would add to this list is motivation. Good motivation is the driving force behind a successful team. As a leader it is key to learn the value of motivation, not only for yourself, but for those you work with. Our last speaker, Richard Lewis, had a great line about motivation, which was, “Motivation is different with each person. You have to get to know them individually in order to motivate them.” My experience with motivation, which also happens to be one of my personal best leadership experiences, happened senior year in high school when I was the captain of my dance team. We were approaching the day of our big state competition when my coach received some devastating news; her brother had been in a car wreck and was now in a coma. She immediately flew out to be with him and her family, leaving my fellow captain and I in charge of the team, only days away from competition. Being a strong leader though I stayed focused on the task at hand and was constantly doing everything I could to motivate the girls. I kept high spirits and a positive attitude about going to the State competition without our coach, even though deep down I was unsure of how it would all
