They didn’t have what we wanted. The thing that annoyed me was we had already discussed our desires on the phone and in person and it was almost like he wasn’t listening. What I really wanted was a suitable van from a dealer that had a warranty so I had little risk of buying a lemon. What he tried to sell me was a $20,000 car I didn’t want on financing I couldn’t afford.
Maybe it was me being the difficult one, but I wasn’t trying to be unreasonable and I was attempting an honest purchase. The difficulty was that my wife and I had performed a lot of research over the web. We came to the dealership knowing what vehicle we wanted and the price range the car was in. We didn’t want to buy privately due to risk of problems with the car and we were having trouble finding the car we wanted in our …show more content…
A cute young woman greeted me. I tried contemplating who she was, a Jehovah’s Witness? Nope. Was she a trying for a donation? Nope.
She struck a brilliant smile and asked if we had any dirty flooring in our home that needed a good scrubbing. She then proceeded to tell me that they would clean it, for free! They were asking nearly $3,000 for a Sentria edition Kirby with the shampooer and attachments! This was an outrageous price for a vacuum cleaner or as they called it a home sanitation tool. I don’t care if it walked the dogs and made breakfast every morning $3,000 is a lot of money. After some, rather a lot of haggling, we got the price down to $500. I feel like it was a win.
The thing about this experience is they were honest, hard-working and very upfront about everything that was happening. I mean at the end, they were sweating and tired from cleaning. They wanted this sale and they were selling something they believed in and their product did everything they said it would.
Do I feel I am a
