Gun Control or People Control
Who are the real killers, the guns or we? Gun laws today are getting looser and looser when it comes to who can buy guns and handle them without a license. Now days people but guns for auctions or on the market for a little of nothing. Here in Alabama we have the most nonchalant gun laws that you can find in the south. Most people in Alabama do not even have a license and do not plan on getting one anytime soon.
Most gun owners don’t have the rights to carry their weapon by law, but these are the people who want stricter gun control laws because they know how crazy people can get with guns. The Second Amendment gives individuals the right to firearms. Being that states and localities are free to impose their own regulation, gun control is complicated in the United States. “Gun control is always a hard issue, one that all reporters never want to face.” We feel law-abiding people have the right to own or purchase guns for sporting or other legitimate reasons. There should be certain measures that criminals, the mentally incompetent, and children should not be able to purchase guns (Genzlinger …show more content…
Get the guns in the hands of the people who will use them the proper way and not take advantage of them (Gun Control 1). Gun control refers to laws that regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms. Most of the people out take advantage of the power that a gun has. The answer to the problem is simple. get the guns out of the hands of bad people. Don’t change anything and you will see the same result. Setup a gun registry for the United States and that will put guns in the hands of the people who really use them for a good purpose and will take car of them (Maybe In A Perfect World 1). What would gun control mean at this point? Those who already own weapons may keep theirs, but weapons will not be in any gun stores or pawn shops. Gun control really means going house to house collecting every single gun. Gun owners would either fight back until there was a nationwide civil war or they would just hide their weapons and claim that they do not have any. There are about 89 guns per 100 people; the most armed civilian population in the world. Today, that means that almost 1 gun for every single citizen, including babies. This is not that big of a problem unless the gun owners do not have a license or has a criminal record because they will just cause more dangerous
