Definition of a hero: “a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Pat Tillman didn’t see himself as a hero, but many others saw him as their only hero. Pat Tillman was born in November 6th, 1976 in Fremont, California. He died in war April 22, 2004 in Spera, Khost Province. He had a wife, 2 brothers, and very many friends. Pat Tillman was loved, modest, and he had the strongest work ethic of anyone you’d ever meet.
Pat Tillman was loved, modest, and he had a strong work ethic. Tillman was known for many things, but one the main things he was noticed for is his selflessness. When Pat Tillman saw the World Trade Centers go down in 2001, he had no doubt that he had to go serve. He was called, and that was the thing that he felt was right to do. Pat Tillman showed selflessness when he felt useless, so he went to serve. Another reason he was selfless was because he wanted to go back to playing football, but he said he had a job, and he wasn’t going to quit it. He had very many friends, coaches, and citizens that admired him through it all. “He was the youngest, but biggest man,” said one of his friends from the Arizona Cardinals. “The better he got, the more humble he got,” said head coach from the Arizona Cardinals. His team respected him a lot. It is obvious Tillman was loved because even though he died 12 years ago, people all around the world still go on Pat’s run every year, and they still remember him. Another reason he was loved was because he was always with his family. Pat would never miss out on any family time, or time to get to be with his team.
