The Importance Of Parenting System In Education

It was always the dream of both my parents to go to college and get doctor degrees, but unfortunately they did not have the privilege to even graduate high school. My father had lost his own father in a car accident, causing him to drop out of school so that he may provide for his mother and younger siblings. My mother grew up in Mexico, in which education was not enforced for women so her parents took her out of high school. As a result of their crushed dreams, as their only child, they pushed me to excel in academics. My parents strongly encouraged me to get straight A’s; if I did not accomplish this, I would get grounded for half a year; no electronics or playing with friends. A grade of a “B” to my parents and I is equivalent to a grade of an “F”. …show more content…
I have learned that there is no such thing as limits, anyone can accomplish anything they set their mind to, and nothing is evitable. Through their parenting system, I have to come to have a deep appreciation for intellectual stimulation, and I believe that there is no beauty in life without knowledge and great wisdom. Instead of partying or engaging in activities that the general society live by, I enjoy my free time by analyzing people, writing analysis, reading books, and having intellectual conversations with my group of friends whom are in the top three percent in the school rank, about politics, life lessons, and our goals and ambitions. My family and community have shaped me to become a consistent, hardworking woman. I am a first generation to attend a university as a freshman, not only in my main family, but I am the first generation in my entire family as a whole from both my mother’s and father’s
