The need to increase the campaign to protect the children from physical abuse is still important in the United States. In order for these changes to occur and improve the condition for children are to understand the problem of abuse. In the United States 1 in 9 U.S. children are abused and neglected before the age of 18. In a recent study, of 1455 adults, out of those 23 were physically and harshly abused. Those that had been physically abused had a significant reduction in gray matter in the brain. Such as head injuries, burns, abdominal injuries that all have long lasting effects for a person. Other Studies in Australia, sampled 1037 Australian, and out of all these participants that had specific illness after being exposed to adverse childhood experiences.
