Paraguay I have just been hired in the international division of a multinational corporation that makes consumer goods to become an expert on Paraguay. My first assignment is to prepare a report on Paraguay to consider if we should build a manufacturing plant to produce a consumer good there. From the research I gathered, Paraguay would not be a recommended country to build a manufacturing factory due to their social, political, and economic factors. Education in Paraguay has not always obtained recognition. There are three education system levels which include primary, secondary, and tertiary. Crime in Paraguay is still an ongoing concern. Crimes that are committed are usually non- violent but weapons being used such as knives and guns generates the chance for serious injury. Besides the use of weapons, street crime is also common. Street crime is usual in downtown Asuncion, terminal stations, and public buses. Not only are crimes committed by adults but by groups of children. Groups of children have been known for mobbing pedestrians, stealing wallets, and taking purses. “For 2014, the Paraguayan National Police (PNP) reported marked increases in vehicle theft (+25 percent), robbery (+10 percent), aggravated robbery (+12 percent), and aggravated theft (+13 percent) as compared to 2013, with other crime categories remaining mostly stagnant.” ( United States Department of State. "Paraguay 2015 Crime and Safety Report - OSAC.) Many of the crimes are said to be unreported due to the people’s lack of confidence with the judicial process. The high crime rate in Paraguay will not be safe for workers. The acts being done may not be exceedingly violent, but they can endanger the workers.
