Drought In Canada Essay

Canada accounts for roughly 7% of the forests in the world. This implies that Canada has an important role to manage their forests effectively. As we know, there are many factors that can disrupt the forest system, the two major groups of threats are seemed to be the natural disturbances and human activities. In terms of the human activities, such as farming and industrial development, are thought to be responsible for disrupting the forests. It is considered as rather a smaller effect in the forest of Canadian area, compared with the rest of the world. However, the risks of natural disturbances are increasing in the forest of Canada. From my point of view, global warming might be the greatest threat which takes into account for disrupting the BC forest system. Since the process of climate change worsen the natural disturbances to forests and put them in a more extreme level, such as the rapid increasing wildfire, insect outbreaks and drought.

When it comes to indirect impacts, drought increases wildfire risk, since the dry trees makes the fuel more easier to fire. Drought also provide a suitable environment for phytophagous insects to grow.
