In Asia, many countries are isolated from the rest of the world. All Asian countries are mountainous and are bordered by large bodies of water. These geographic barriers make Asian countries isolated. Also, especially in Southeast Asia, natural disasters are more probable because these nations are located on the “Ring of Fire” which is a high risk natural disaster zone. For example, Japan has recently faced a Triple Disaster which left the country in shambles. Furthermore, in many Asian countries overpopulation in the urban areas is a huge issue because there are many job outlooks and a lack of opportunities in rural territories. For example, an authoritarian government with a powerful political background would possess a group of people more likely to be obedient and law-abiding. In terms of Pacific Rim countries, they are either socialist or democratic states. They are most commonly known to be subjected to communism, government corruption, and democratic pressure. Their rising power of provincial leaders help citizens gain a certain respect for authority and jurisdiction. While this system is known to lack in certain rights and freedoms, this well coordinated method greatly affects education and economy. An average of 92.7% of Southeast Asian people are able to read and write, making it one of the most literate regions in the world. China and North Korea are authoritative countries in the run of becoming a world leader with impressive economic status. The People’s Republic of China is prone to corruption.In addition, Japan and South Korea elect their fellow leaders and embrace their political principles. Many of the countries in South Asia are transitioning into democracies. Politics are what makes or breaks a country. People depend on their governments for their education, their employment, and their way of life.
