According to Brazilian lyricist and novelist Paulo Coelho “Culture makes people understand each other better. And if they understand each other better in their soul, it is easier to overcome the economic and political barriers. But first they have to understand that their neighbor is, in the end, just like them, with the same problems, the same questions” (Brainy Quote). I believe that the statement that Paulo Coelho made is very true and has very deep meaning. While some to think of culture as what they do every day, I would consider my culture to be defined as family, work and food. In the first part of my triptych, I have a silhouette of a family. That is because family is an important aspect for most people. However to me family is everything. Without my family to come home to everyday I would be lost. This mistake lead to making the other employees have to go back and fix what was messed up. This leading to the boss to come in and look at our hours where he noticed it took longer than usual. He proceeded to yell and get angry with us because we “wasted fourteen dollars” of his heard earned money. He continued to say “Do it right the first time…. you won’t have to come back to redo a task, just simply do it right the first time.”
Jobs can teach many things and I feel that if we do not take advantage of work and learn from our mistakes then we will never be the best person we can be. The lack of people applying themselves contributes to what our culture is. This may make it look as if our culture is not hard working, or caring, it makes us seem worthless to other cultures. This is why it is important to make our culture more than what others have made it for us. We have control of our culture, we need to make the most of
