For example girls and boys in the same PE class have the tendency to pick on each other and the guys are at the dominant and controlling side while the girls are left helpless to defend for themselves and they try to participate without feeling uncomfortable. While some girls can handle it, cause they have a thin role super model to look up to. As for the guys they have each other for support and their goals of becoming masculine like their role models. Certain attitudes are expressed from boys in younger adolescents that are demeaning towards girls. For certain reasons that include girls are unfit for sports because they are too feminine and are not strong enough to compete. In a past physical activity program constructed and recorded by physical education teacher Joanne Gibbs, tested and monitored adolescent subjects to do certain exercises to increase their BMD (Bone Mineral Density). “The exercise program included a variety of vigorous, high-impact aerobic workouts, such as aerobics, modified soccer and Australian Rules football, step aerobics, bush dance, skipping, ball games, modern dance, and weight training” (Morris, Fiona). While doing these exercises with these kids he noticed that the exercises made them gain lean mass which also improved their bone density. “Implications from these findings are that the premenarcheal years may provide a window of opportunity for the bone modeling and remodeling process to respond to mechanical loading” (Morris). This means that it’s crucial that students in stages of puberty ages from 13-16 should start doing weight bearing exercises which will benefit them for the future since they will have stronger bones to stay active which will be a helpful to be more readily
