NFL Domestic Abuse Over the last several years, the issue of domestic violence inside the National Football League (NFL) has been increasingly brought to the forefront. This is because there is a number of high profile cases that outlined the blatant abuse star players were involved with. As a result, result, society is demanding the league to discipline these individuals in order to make an example of them. As a result, many of these incidents were covered up and never reported. After the OJ Simpson trial, is when they become reactive by waiting for the criminal justice process to play out. At which point, the league will impose its own punishments based upon the outcome of these proceedings. The Ray Rice incident highlighted how these policies were ineffective. This is when the NFL decided to become more proactive. The problem is that if they impose stiff penalties. The Players Association will sue claiming that the league is in violation of the collective
