It’s the type of career in which you can see that your good deeds did make a difference, whether it was helping an old man get a new heart or telling a little girl and her parents that you were able to get out every last bit of the tumor. Even though there are many years of college ahead, I wouldn 't mind using my time to learn because I would be learning about a subject that I am passionate about and things that confound me in every possible way. Human connection is one of the most important things out there. The reason why I want to become a doctor isn’t about the money or the praise, but simply because of that feeling you get when you’re able to help someone. That relief you feel when you can finally see the sharp lines that once formed their grimace slowly start to disappear. And the contentment that washes over you once you know that that person’s pain is gone. For many people, there isn 't a realization, no bliss to follow, no discovery of their life’s purpose. Whether it was fate or just a mistake on nature’s part that I would have the opportunity to stumble upon a path that I would want to follow when I was older doesn 't matter in the long run. All that matters is I was able to result in the conclusion that I can count myself among one of the lucky ones who has an idea of what their calling is.
