Without warning, the lights went dark. This was the moment I had been waiting for. My adrenaline went through the roof. The time had finally come that I would get to see and hear my first live concert. …show more content…
In the back middle of the theatre was the biggest, most complex sound system I have ever laid my eyes on. It had millions of knobs and switches on a soundboard that was about twenty-five feet by six feet. There was an older, green puke looking computer hooked up to the soundboard. It didn't exactly look like the top of the line computer like everything else in the theatre did, but I guess it got the job done.

"Someone really has to know what they're doing." I said to Nathan, as he looked back surprised to see the perplexing array of controls.

We then proceeded to find our seats. My sister and her friends went up to the very front of the stage. The rest of us sat in our seats for a while and had a little chat about lots of different things. As I looked around the theatre I saw lots of different people just standing around, all with that excited look on their faces. The warm-up band, the Elms, would be rockin' first. Then, Jars of Clay would come out and rock the house. It seemed like we had been sitting there forever when suddenly the lights dimmed, and the Elms came out on

It had an excellent beat with awesome lyrics. In the second song that they performed, Steve "busted out" an accordion. It was really cool, but it was nothing compared to what happened in the next song. Steve went up on the drumming platform where Greg was and they both started jamming out on the drums. They both started and ended the song like this. Their movements were identical and they hit every beat in perfect unison. It gave me goose bumps watching their every move.

Jars of Clay performed a lot of songs that evening. There was never a dull moment. The excitement of the concert swelled inside of me. For my first time ever being at a concert, it was well worth it.

In the end, they said their farewells, sang one last song and then left the stage. Well, at least we thought they did. As soon as they left the stage everyone started chanting, "We want more!" repeatedly for about five minutes. They ended up coming back on stage and executing one final song. I thought it was very awesome of them to do another song like that for

Music is beautiful in many different ways. I may not listen to letlive. on a daily basis, but by the way the crowd was moving and how we were all emotionally involved, they could change lives with their music. We saw many bands that day, some of them being my favorites or soon to be favorites. I feel that you never get to actually get a band until you have seen them live, because once you see how they interact with their own music, you really get to see them for them, and understand why they're doing this.…

Billy Collins and the Art of Blogging Several years ago, when I studied writing in college, I attended a poetry reading featuring Billy Collins. After the event, held in the auditorium of a local community college, the emcee announced Collins would be signing autographs in the college library. Sitting near the stage by the back door, as most people turned to exit the main doors, I left through the back door. I think I was one of the first 20 people in line, and I had my copy of The Art of Drowning ready for the famed Billy Collins to sign.…

Tickets were kind of difficult to get because it was so close to the concert, but they were some of the best seats I’ve ever had at a concert. We didn’t feel like finding a parking spot at the Moda Center so we decided to take the Tri-met, which was my first time ever on it. It was a lot nicer than the one in Arizona and we laughed and talked about our day. We got there about 45 minutes before the opening act, Slydigs, began and she bought…
