In the back middle of the theatre was the biggest, most complex sound system I have ever laid my eyes on. It had millions of knobs and switches on a soundboard that was about twenty-five feet by six feet. There was an older, green puke looking computer hooked up to the soundboard. It didn't exactly look like the top of the line computer like everything else in the theatre did, but I guess it got the job done.
"Someone really has to know what they're doing." I said to Nathan, as he looked back surprised to see the perplexing array of controls.
We then proceeded to find our seats. My sister and her friends went up to the very front of the stage. The rest of us sat in our seats for a while and had a little chat about lots of different things. As I looked around the theatre I saw lots of different people just standing around, all with that excited look on their faces. The warm-up band, the Elms, would be rockin' first. It had an excellent beat with awesome lyrics. In the second song that they performed, Steve "busted out" an accordion. It was really cool, but it was nothing compared to what happened in the next song. Steve went up on the drumming platform where Greg was and they both started jamming out on the drums. They both started and ended the song like this. Their movements were identical and they hit every beat in perfect unison. It gave me goose bumps watching their every move.
Jars of Clay performed a lot of songs that evening. There was never a dull moment. The excitement of the concert swelled inside of me. For my first time ever being at a concert, it was well worth it.
In the end, they said their farewells, sang one last song and then left the stage. Well, at least we thought they did. As soon as they left the stage everyone started chanting, "We want more!" repeatedly for about five minutes. They ended up coming back on stage and executing one final song.
