My lunch was normally a wheat bread sandwich with turkey or ham and cheese; which counts towards some of my dairy needs. I typically ate at different times each day, but my dinner time seemed to always come around 7:00 pm. This meal consisted of a main course meat; usually chicken, (4-5 ounces) and every once in a while a lean steak, (4-6 ounces) a cup of vegetables, and a cup of white rice. During the day I would consume snacks between classes or work, and that consisted of an apple or sometimes popcorn if I was craving something salty. Most times my fruit intake was through fruit smoothies (16-20 fluid ounces). While I was able to meet the suggested intake for protein with ease, I found that meeting the daily 3 cups of dairy was hard. I also tended to reach the daily target of 2 and a half cups of fruit but had trouble eating 3 and half cups of vegetables and 10 ounces of grain. I came to find that all of the meals I consumed throughout the week were missing at least two food groups. While reading my reports from the week I began to rethink my eating habits, and I have come to discover that I want to be more aware of the food groups on my plate and to understand why each food group is equally
