Well, think of how the world would be if everyone did whatever they wanted and didn’t think of right or wrong while carrying out their actions. It is very ideal to have specific morals of what’s right and wrong, Without morals, where would life take us? Would there even be a meaning to life if everyone just did what they pleased without any significance behind it? If you don’t consider your values and beliefs, life could be a mess. Morals are in existence to guide your life to goals rather than be controlled by unhealthy habits and actions. Values and morals cannot only guide but inspire you a passion for living and doing something meaningful. For example, gymnastics is something that has helped me establish my morals. Being a competitive gymnast helped me get things accomplished and kept my head on straight. Participating in such an intense sport kept me in the best shape and set my priorities right. When my other friends were out at night, as you could say “living it up,” I was home resting up for practice the next morning. My all-time ambition and purpose to life was to become a successful gymnast and someday be in the Olympics. This set high standards for myself which helped me become morally satisfied. Setting too high of standards for yourself can always lead to disappointed failure. Failure is not always a bad thing though. It can lead to inspiration and the motivation to succeed. In establishing your morals, it is important for one to not only profess them but to act them out. Unused values are worthless. You must be honest with yourself, distinguishing the difference between imitated values and acted on morals. Saying you value something to make yourself look good is self afflicting hypocrisy. Thus, there is no point to verbally claiming you value something if you do not hold onto
