Malcom X Do you ever think about how the world would be if certain people didn’t make an impact on it? I asked myself the same question and I say yes. There’s been plenty of people that’s made a significant impact on this world to make it how it is today. For example, George Washington, Rosa Parks, and MLK. In my opinion Malcom X, the well-known Civil Rights activist and religious leader, made the biggest impact!
Initially, before he made a great name for himself that would forever change history, no one knew him as Malcolm X. Even though he was known for doing such great things he also did some bad things when he was young. He was born as Malcolm …show more content…
The Nation of Islam silenced him for 90 days because of the comments made about President John F Kennedy. Malcolm X then left the NOI, the organization that he worked so hard for and to get in. Also Malcolm X created his own religious organization later after the incident. He became so feared that the FBI decided to tap his phones because they thought something big like a racial war was going to begin. The March on Washington really highlighted MLK, but Malcolm made a presence. The purpose of the March was to show that people wanted equal rights and a level playing field. The whites were always above now and that left the blacks with little opportunity. Not only were there blacks at this march, whites also showed up because they recognized what was right. This March allowed people to connect with many civil rights activists, especially Dr. Martin Luther King. This is where King's famous “I have a dream speech” occurred. This is one of the most memorable speeches in history, but Malcolm X and six other activists got a great turnout. True to his revolutionary leanings, Malcolm X called the march on Washington the “Farce of Washington”. He thought that blacks should create their own black state.
