Register to read the introduction… The flamboyant imagery really stands out. Mika’s album cover is very interesting and eye-catching because he uses random color on it. Also, there are various colorful articles such as a TV, sofa, flowers, grand piano, and bird. These random things are placed in spots all over the place. It is almost looks like a drawing paper of a kindergarten student. He made the colors and all of the images look like a cartoon, which is related to the title of his album, Life in Cartoon Motion. There is a picture of the album’s artist, Mika, near the bottom left of his name on the cover art. Even though it is small, it’s dominant and attracts the viewer’s attention because it’s in sepia. So, it will be the second image that audience will see after his name. Therefore, with this colorful album cover, Mika tries to tell the audience that his music is relaxed, bright, and full in …show more content…
He is wearing a shirt and his hair is in a mess. The color of his picture is combination of grey and brown, which results more like sepia. It makes Mika look similar to the other occupant of his cartoon world. Additionally, there is a man who is relaxing on the couch, a piano flying on the sky, flowers in many colors, arrows all over the place, a little girl playing with his doll, and many clouds in an assortment of shades. All of images displaying a relaxed, laid back feel of music. Overall, the icons display having fun with life which describe the craziness of Mika’s life before he become famous where he has to move from Beirut to France, and then finally London as written on the album cover booklet. The representation of an album cover will be the fifth point on this essay. Mika is a pop singer artist, which fits with the cover. There are many random arrows, which I feel represent life and the message trying to be displayed is that you can do anything with your life. Also, there are positive figures such as birds, flowers, rainbow, and clouds, which represent that life is great as it is, but becomes even more wonderful with his music.
