Without this influence of Michelangelo’s works of excellence, the paintings, sculptures, and buildings of European artists would not appear as they do now. With his art, Michelangelo encouraged adding curvature, diagonals, twists, and turns in order for the pieces of the art to compliment one another. The technique of creating highlights and shadows was promoted in order to create a three dimensional shape on a two dimensional surface or create an illusion of added volume and shape to a sculpture. The Florentine tradition to construct clear rigid edges got carried on by Michelangelo. Michelangelo himself was influenced by Christian faith, basing his artwork of the Christian stories and messages. The obsession of the human body that Michelangelo has is shown through his masterpieces, pushing the study of the human anatomy onto to artists who wish to create work similar to Michelangelo. He wanted artwork that contained a human to express the soul of the human, dress in nothing or a robe, in order for the humans’ natural beauty to arise. Michelangelo spread himself throughout and further from Europe with his art, therefore without his existence the art in and influenced by modern Europe would not have the same appearance.
