Leigh Anne identifies a strength in Michael which is that he isn’t some aggressive, scary, and mean person. She sees him as a gentle, nice, and very caring person who has nothing going well in his life. Others see as some big scary guy and feel unsafe and maybe uncomfortable when he is around them. In the movie she sees Michael talking to her son and that shows her that he isn’t a scary guy, but that he is nice and caring person, which makes her curious about Michael. Leigh Anne draws out the best Michael because at practice the coach was yelling at Michael and she realized that when people yell at him, he will not do well. SJ was a leader because he was friendly to Michael from the start, when Michael first started school he greeted him and the way to be less scary was to put a smile on. SJ also helped Michael and motivate him to become a better football player, he would help him practice and work on plays with him because he knew Michael could become a good football player. The football coach had one moment of leadership and that was when the opposing player kicked Michael in the head, the coach stood up for his player when he knew something wrong happened and the refs were being unfair. Collins was a leader when she saw Michael sitting alone in the library and knew it was the right thing to do and she did it. She didn’t care what others though of her, which is what a true leader would do.
