Virtual reality (VR) technology and its integration into the project management software and project design provides multiple solutions that bring about a new perspective on how projects are executed. The best reasoning for using VR in BIM is to improve upon communication for all project members, reduce any scheduling errors, and provide overall transparency to the project. VR and BIM work simultaneously with each other in order to achieve many different aspects to the model. According to R. Issa:
“A virtual reality platform supported by knowledge-based database systems can become the main interface to construction information for every specialty throughout the construction (life) cycle of the project. All major application packages would

This tool becomes a necessary part of construction planning and sequencing so that every need is met for the merge of existing building to the new building or …show more content…
A 3D presentation allows the user to fully grasp the scope of work if they are allowed to flow through the space. Traditionally it has started with creating a 3D model and presenting rendered scenes. From there it had progressed from scenes to automated walk-throughs. Now with today’s technology the user has the ability to immerse themselves into the model and fully experience their project with the use of virtual reality. There are two kinds of approaches to VR presentations: immersive and non-immersive. An immersive approach contains audio and visual perception using equipment such as curved screens, headgear, like the Oculus Rift, and bodysuits. The non-immersive approach or “desktop virtual reality” uses the mouse and keyboard for the user to navigate through the virtual world. Both approaches to VR presentations give the user a better sense of spacial perception. The integration of virtual reality (VR) with the modeled construction operations presents an opportunity to lead “an integrated virtual construction environment. In such an environment, designers, engineers, and construction personnel will be able to test, evaluate, and improve traditional construction operations, techniques, as well as develop new ones” (Al-Masalha,

Subsequently, the building components fabricated in the factory, are transported to the site location in order to be assembled on-site. This leads to a greater degree of finish than in traditional piecemeal on-site construction due to elimination of on-site work and rapid site assembly. Although off-site construction is becoming the next big thing in construction world is also not new.…
