Social media is a combination of internet and other technologies that people use for social networking. These social media is becoming and is popular among people in this generation. The internet is making it possible for people to communicate even when they occupy the different physical location. A person on the western side of the globe will get to know whatever is happening in the east within a matter of seconds. In the media, there are no restrictions on the language use. Therefore, use of short forms of words is becoming a lifestyle and is going beyond just chatting. The same short forms are finding their way into the academic field. This use of short forms is a common mistake that most academicians are finding themselves doing. The English language is changing from formal use to casual language common among students who spend most of their time chatting. Considering the improvement of the technology and learners are increasingly equipping themselves with computer skills, the quality, and preventability of the work is becoming a trend. On the other hand, the technology is making research possible. This is not to say that the application the language does not matter, it matter. Because the way they use words and some common short forms, completely change the meaning. The connection of points and main ideas the student will change. Apart from becoming neat and quick writers, the students are using computers and Smartphones to highlight information in a website, and paste it into their documents. According to research, most social media users can communicate with their friends and relatives but the communication is void. Technology is becoming a hindrance to intimate relationship. It is about that time when people would rather have a short message sent to them via Facebook than spending much time holding a face to face communication. It is, therefore, the reason that it necessitated the use of some small pictures to cover the gap that is left between those conversing on the social media. However, these images are just a representation of feelings say, worried, happy, angry or even laughter are not capable of giving the full expression of the sentiments. Some occasions necessitate the use of social media for communication like those whose families are far away from them. There is no problem in long distance communication through social media but to those whose family members are within the vicinity, it is an issue that needs a quick intervention. Apart from the fear of time wastage among people, there is another trouble that presents itself among many people. An individual finds it easy to confront another individual through the screen and not face to face. Not many people would wish to risk their relationship.
