The purpose of the second section of the lab was to titrate acetic acid solution to measure the molarity. 2.0 mL of acetic acid was measured using the 10 mL graduated cylinder and the value was recorded. The sample was added to an empty Erlenmeyer flask and diluted using distilled water to 50 mL. The graduated cylinder was washed out using distilled water and added to the flask. Three drops of phenolphthalein were added and the solution was titrated until it turned a light pink color. The final volume was recorded when the endpoint was reached. Equation 1 was used to find the volume of NaOH used and equation 2 was used find the molarity of acetic acid. The test was repeated and the average of the two molarities was found using equation
