Cobras Movie Analysis

Cobras are dangerous creatures that has a deadly bite. Even with those risks, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi have fought the snakes in the garden anyways. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the book and the movie has both differences, and similarities. The book tells of a war that Rikki-Tikki fought against the black cobras, dust brown snakes, and other serpents in the garden, written by Rudyard Kipling. The movie also tells of a war that Rikki fought against those evil serpents. The movie was produced by Chuck Jones. Rikki fought with help from Darzee and advice from Chuchundra. The storyline, setting, and characters are very similar in both mediums of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, but there are some differences in those topics. The storyline in some places is different in the story, then that of the movie. It states in paragraph 7 on page 144 that “They gave him a little piece of raw meat. Rikki-Tikki liked it immensely, and when it was finished, he went out into the veranda” …show more content…
There was a Coppersmith bird who told the village that “Ding-dong-tock! Nag is dead-dong! Nagaina is dead! Ding-dong-tock!”. That statement caused “all the birds in the garden singing and the frogs croaking” (Kipling 156). However, the movie didn’t mention the bird at all. There was also a mention of red fire ants that went into Nagaina’s hole to see if she really was dead, but in the movie there were no mention or sighting of the fire ants anywhere. There were also characters that were kept the same, for example Rikki Tikki. The movie also kept Darzee, Darzee’s wife, Chuchundra, Nag, Nagaina, the dust brown snake, the boy, the Englishman, and the woman. The Coppersmith bird and the red ants may have been left out of the movie because of the minor role they played in the movie.
