Integrating data-based decision making, Assessment for Learning and diagnostic testing in formative assessment my understanding is that when collecting meaningful data as a teacher we have to stay consistent throughout the learning process and paint and reveals a holistic picture of each and every learner (including affective variables) that included innovative approaches in the classroom which guides learning in and outside the classroom which channels Differentiated Instruction. Formative assessment does not focus on ranking students or comparing them but rather on developing an understanding of students within the context of the students’ own backgrounds. Teachers should always give a pre assessment in the beginning to check for understanding in the formative assessment process. Pre-assessment plays an integral role in successfully differentiating our classroom. First, pre-assessment allows the teacher opportunities to truly understand his or her students, their strengths and weaknesses, during classroom instruction times. Secondly, gather the data from the pre-assessments data form your summative assessment based on that data. The use of technology in the classroom is a learning device that track and assess the students ' and the teacher performance also in the classroom. Technology is also used to facilitate communication between students and teachers and to create students digital portfolio records of the student growth and development that can available to teachers from one year to the next and or, passed along from grade to grade even if the child leave that district. . Results are bound to fluctuate based on a number of factors, some of which are unknown. Also as an educator we can use technology to improve teaching and make our own work more productive. In my classroom I use spreadsheets to track my student work and also track their instructions. If a group of students is performing poorly in a particular area, this kind of record keeping can highlight areas that the teacher needs to focus on in their own teaching.
