Many children throughout time have always dreamt of this great childhood idea, who would have ever imagined that it might be a possibility that some day people will see Mars with their own eyes. It seems so bizarre to believe that this might actually happen. Many movies that have been made in the past such as “Mission to Mars” and “The Martian” make the public more and more interested/ intrigued about the actual idea of humans actually some day stepping for on the planet. Mars, as we know, may very well be the next planet for human habitation due to findings of direct evidence of water, the comparability between Earth and Mars, and the planet’s climate. To state, Mars is the neighbor planet to Earth which means it is between both Earth and Jupiter. Also, in the entire solar system, it is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to planet Earth. Earth is the third planet from the sun and Mars is right after Earth making it be the fourth planet from the sun. Because Mars is after Earth and a bit further away from the sun, it is easy to conclude that the temperatures on Mars will be cooler than those on Earth. Although day temperatures may be warm, throughout the night, planet Mars will be exposed to extreme cold temperatures.Throughout the years of much study and research, many of the scientists and astronauts that work for NASA have been able to come to the conclusion that both Mars and Earth are quite similar and share many of the same characteristics. Just as on Earth, Mars orbits in the same direction. Its pretty cool to know that our Earth orbits on the same direction as Mars. Since Mars and Earth both orbit on the same direction it is known that just like on Earth, Mars will have changes in seasons. Some other characteristics between Earth and Mars consist of its atmosphere (Starobin, 2004). Just like on Earth, Mars is known is known to have glaciers, dust storms, river channels and volcanoes (Patel, 2007). It is a pretty cool fact to know that just like on Earth, there are huge glaciers, mountains and even …show more content…
Due to the fact that both Earth and Mars orbit in the same directions, they will both experience a change in the seasons. The change in the seasons always mean a change in the planet’s climate. For example, on planet Earth, when the season changes from fall to winter, the atmosphere feels different., and the temperatures will usually go down some and start to feel really cool. The same must also apply on planet

The connection between my article Mars, the red planet and The Martian by Andy Weir is that Mark Watney uses Mars’s two moons Phobos and Deimos to help him travel to the Pathfinder so he can communicate with NASA for help. When he travels at night he can’t see any of the landmarks like the craters to help him know the direction he is going so he uses Phobos and Deimos to help him travel. “Mars doesn’t have a magnetic field. So I navigate by Phobos. It whips around Mars so fast it actually rises and sets twice a day, running west to east.…

In preparation for the destruction of Earth, humans are to be transported to continue life on the planet Mars. Scientists have been studying this planet for decades. Research and experimentation have shown Mars is capable of supporting human life forms and other organisms. However, the time and money necessary to accomplish such a feat would be astronomical. Matt Williams, the Guide to Space Curator for Universe Today, expresses his opinions on this phenomena in his article, “How Can We Live on Mars?”…

And it can be seen in the movie, because Mark Watney could only travel during the daytime, he had to work fast and efficiently if he needed to get anything done. Another scene that relates to this is the fact that due to the Earth’s and Mars’ rotation, the picking up of more supplies on the way back and the concept of picking up Watney from Mars, the timing of the spacecraft, Hermes, needed to be spot on.…

These harsh conditions are increased by air pollution and climate change through cars and factories; man-made inventions. These innovative technologies have been necessary in order to have a functioning and developing society and economy. However, the belief that humans are the sole cause of climate change is refuted by scientists, advocating that the change in the Earth’s climate is a natural cause.
